Proofreaders from Preklady Echo not only check documents in various languages and correct typing errors and grammar mistakes, but also adjust language to the purpose for which it was meant. This means that language of a motivation letter should have a different character and use other expressions (in this case many superlatives) than for example a job description document (neutral expressions). For us this is also proofreading. Our professional interpreters can stick to rules, but they also know when exactly to cross them in order to get a superior result. In highly competitive business environment proofreading is the last defense line against incorrect language and compromising mistakes in a document. Our proofreaders have worked in various areas from marketing to journalism; therefore, they can give you practical advice or adjust the language of your document so that it has a maximum effect on the target audience. Dictionaries and language style guidebooks are essential tools of our proofreader.
In what form should the documents for proofreading come?
Documents for proofreading can be delivered in electronic form (soft copy) in all major formats including MS Office, QuarkXPress, Adobe PageMaker, Photoshop, Corel, etc. They can also be delivered in physical form (hard copy): books, leaflets, brochures, magazines or any other printed documents.
What do we require from a client?
To inform us of the purpose of the documents submitted for proofreading. The client needs to give us instructions to what extent can the documents be altered (typing mistakes, grammar, style, errors of fact...).
How do we charge for proofreading?
For proofreading services we normally charge with regard to the number of standard pages (1 standard page = 1,800 characters including spaces). The rate for one standard page depends on the language of the proofread document and on the extent and difficulty of document adjustments made.
